Lagoon 42, the cruising catamaran with real character

The Lagoon 42 is a cruising catamaran that has successfully won over many boaters and charter bases. This 12-meter multihull is an excellent used catamaran for those who want to sail anywhere with a certain level of comfort.

Lagoon shipyard unveiled its Lagoon 42 catamaran at the Düsseldorf Boat Show in 2016. A cruising multihull that invites performance into its program. This Lagoon 42 replaced the Lagoon 421. Upon its release, this catamaran introduced an evolution in the DNA of the Lagoon shipyard. This catamaran will opt for a rigging system closer to that of racing boats, a major innovation for the specialist in cruising catamarans. At the same time, it retains the main characteristics of a Lagoon catamaran in terms of design and program.

Lagoon 42: Performance as a Guest

Designed by the naval architecture firm Van Peteghem-Lauriot Prévost, the Lagoon 42 aims to be more high-performing than its predecessors. A return to the roots, in the spirit of the first Lagoon in the shipyard’s history: the Lagoon 55. This choice will mark a lasting evolution for the Lagoon shipyard. Indeed, the look is already more aggressive. The mast has been moved aft to better balance the weights, offer more options for the foresails, and allow the installation of a self-tacking jib. The mainsail will also be taller.

In the cockpit, the evolution lies in the fact that a single level allows you to move from the aft platform to the saloon.

A Catamaran for Owners

Beautiful molded woods highlight the soft curves of the interior furniture, carefully designed by Nauta. The Lagoon 42 offers 3 or 4 cabins, each equipped with large windows. The two aft cabins have their own bathroom.

The galley, in a “U” shape, perfectly equipped with large work surfaces and ample storage, faces the outdoor cockpit. Finally, the saloon is spacious, bright, and offers an exceptional sea view.
