The Hanse shipyard was born
Since the 1980s, the recreational boating market has undergone significant development in Europe. It is in this context that Michael Schmidt, a sailing enthusiast and visionary entrepreneur, founded Hanse Yachts in 1990 in Greifswald, Germany.
From the outset, the company distinguished itself through an innovative approach, notably by introducing concepts such as the self-tacking jibfacilitating sailing with a small crew. Although primarily known for its monohulls, Hanse Yachts has also explored the catamaran market, reflecting the pioneering spirit of its founders.
