The Helsinki International Boat Show, Vene 25 Båt, will take place from February 7 to 16, 2025, at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre. Recognized as the largest nautical event in Northern Europe, this year’s edition will feature several new highlights, including a significant increase in the number of motorboats and sailboats on display, as well as an expanded fishing section.
A Stronger Presence of Motorboats and Sailboats
About 85% of the boats exhibited are Finnish-made, reflecting the country’s renowned expertise in boat manufacturing. More than 400 motorboats will be on display, including several notable new models:
- Silver Hawk SCX & BRX – a new fully aluminum model.
- AMT 150 R – a modern fiberglass console boat.
- Yamarin Cross 55 BR – available in standard and fishing versions.
- Aquador 400 HT – representing a new generation of cruising boats.
- Saxdor 340 GTWA – a versatile adventure boat.
- Arronet Arrofoil 25 Cabin – a hydrofoil boat offering high energy efficiency.
- XO EXPLR 44 – considered a modern “mini-superyacht”.
Among the sailboats, five major models will take center stage:

- Beneteau Oceanis 40.1
- Nautor ClubSwan 43
- Hanse 410
- X-Yachts X4.9 MkII
The largest and most expensive boat at the show will be the Sunseeker Manhattan 55, measuring 17 meters long, 5 meters wide, and weighing 27 tons.
Showcasing Classic Boats and Innovations
The exhibition will also feature a dedicated section for classic boats, where visitors can admire three restored models from the prestigious Riva brand. Additionally, an electric wooden boat will be on display at the wooden boatbuilders’ stand.
Another highlight will be the presentation of Jari Saario’s new rowing boat, designed for his ambitious Cape Horn crossing project at the end of 2025, as part of his “Horn to Hope” initiative.
Promoting Recreational Boating
Responding to visitor feedback, the show has increased the number of small boats on display and will showcase five large sailboats. The event also aims to encourage new enthusiasts to take up boating by emphasizing that sailing is accessible and affordable.
To further support this initiative, 28 yacht clubs will be present to promote their services and introduce newcomers to sailing. A special program called “Start Sailing” is scheduled for Sunday, February 9.
New Features at the Show
- A new area dedicated to archipelago marinas, showcasing boating destinations.
- In addition to traditional awards for open boats, cruising boats, and travel boats, the show will introduce two new awards for best sailboat and best fishing boat.
- The “New Life for a Boat” competition, where three restored vessels—previously deemed unusable—will be presented as fully functional boats.
- An exhibition of innovative boating equipment featuring DAME Design Awards winners.
Programs & Activities
The event will feature five themed areas, as well as hands-on activities at the Finnish Sailing and Boating Association’s stand:
- “Sailing Harbor” – travel stories, theme days, and discussions about the Baltic Sea.
- “Venemestari Boatyard” – demonstrations on boat restoration and maintenance tips.
- “Totalvene Mess” – presentations on new boating trends, travel destinations, and maritime safety.
- Fishing Zone – dedicated programs for anglers.
- “Aalto Zone” – featuring a pool for stand-up paddling, kayaking, and fishing.
- Visitors can also enjoy a fly-casting area and a diving pool.
