Regatta calendar

This page presents the regatta calendar on the coasts of the English Channel, Atlantic, Mediterranean, and inland waters. The aim of this list of sailing races is to show you all the popular and accessible events, depending on your regatta level.

The world of regattas and sailboat racing can sometimes seem elitist. However, these gatherings of sailboats are also major popular events, and some regattas are very accessible and come with an excellent atmosphere.

We invite you to contact us to add your regatta or rally to the list.

Why race?

The world of sailing is a world of sharing. However, it is not always easy to exchange with other boaters. Regattas, rallies, and other gatherings are excellent opportunities to meet people, share, and sail together.

At the same time, sailing with others is a great way to push yourself, get to know your sailboat, learn, and improve your navigation, settings, and technical skills.

2024 Regatta Calendar

Below, you will find the regatta calendar in France, from dinghy sailing to IRC keelboat races, including series like First 31.7, Surprise, J80, and classes such as Micro and OSIRIS.

You will find different race formats: coastal races, banana courses, semi-offshore races (for the starts of major sailing races, check the nautical events calendar). A link will take you to the club’s page for regatta registration. Finally, don’t forget your FFV license.

Obligations for Racing

If you plan to race with your boat, regardless of the race, you must do two things in advance:

  • Measure the boat: This means you must register your sailboat for the regatta. You will need to fill out a form with your boat’s characteristics and equipment. From there, it will be given a coefficient. This coefficient balances the races, allowing a skipper sailing a less performant sailboat to gain places in the overall ranking, with compensated time.
  • Be licensed: To participate in a regatta, you must be licensed with a club affiliated with the French Sailing Federation. This allows your ranking to be recorded and covers you during the event. Some races allow you to take out a temporary license for the duration of the race.
